Environmental, Health & Safety Manager - Site Leader and Trainer.
The EHS Manager is responsible for the administration and continuous improvement of the site’s safety/health programs and environmental activities. Implements and maintains company policies adhering to environmental, health and safety regulations.
Ensures compliance with all environmental, health and safety regulations and keeps abreast of any changes to laws and regulations that may impact the organization. Serves as contact with corporate and all regulatory bodies.
Maintains employee health and safety records and files, ensures compliance with all reporting requirements and manages plant risk management activities. Coordinates and/or conducts required EHS training including mandatory MSHA/OSHA, first aid and CPR training.
Manages workers compensation activities including interface with medical providers, employees and insurance carriers to ensure appropriate return to work activities. Initiates, analyzes and provides solutions and coordination/implementation of environmental, health and safety improvements.
QUALIFICATIONS: Bachelor’s Degree in a related discipline and five (5) to ten (10) years related experience in a manufacturing/industrial environment is required. Incumbent must demonstrate a balance between analytical and creative thinking, must be a self-starter who seeks responsibility and is able to work with minimal direction. Incumbent must have demonstrated a willingness to challenge conventional ideas, be flexible, innovative, and be able to function effectively in a team environment. Incumbent must possess excellent PC, organizational, and interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively with others. Must effectively motivate others to promote a positive and safe work atmosphere.
