Senior Project Engineer / Manager

Responsible for:

  • Site Assessment;
  • Overview of engineering design and technical accuracy;
  • Planning and coordination of engineering resources;
  • Budgeting, estimating, and reporting.

Qualifications to include:

  • Extensive hands-on experience in project management, purchasing, budgeting, contract and vendor management, and commissioning;
  • Successful track record of deadline and budgetary target attainment;
  • Experience with mineral processing/milling projects required;
  • BS Engineering – Mechanical preferred but other disciplines with appropriate experience will be suitable;
  • Experience directing project site construction;
  • PE license preferred but not required;
  • Supervision of Project Engineers, Vendors and Contractors;
  • Management of engineering and construction with project values in excess of $5MM;
  • Development and implementation of policies and procedures for project engineers and managers;
  • Preparation and evaluation RFQs;
  • Successful track record of health and safety for projects managed;
  • Development and support of training initiatives to improve both quality and performance of respective workforces.

Maintenance / Reliability Engineer to be responsible for maintenance engineering and reliability projects including vibration analysis, lube oil analysis and mechanical integrity. The role will include:

  • Troubleshoot maintenance problems and establish Preventive Maintenance procedures;
  • Apply Knowledge of equipment maintenance and reliability;
  • Use initiative and resourcefulness to ensure maintenance project success, including working with people at all levels and partnering with them to bring about change that brings business benefits;
  • Project Management - manage multiple maintenance projects to completion with an agreed set of project goals. Provide detailed reporting of progress to management;
  • Change Management - process improvements in the organization from a maintenance and reliability position;
  • Initiative - take proactive action to resolve issues and identify road blocks and develop strategies to remove them;
  • Resourceful - engage other resources as deemed necessary to get the job done with focus on positive outcomes;
  • Presentation & Communication - create and deliver effective presentations and meetings to all levels of the organization;

Requirements:

  • BS degree in Engineering;
  • Experience supervising maintenance and reliability projects;
  • Experience in maintenance supervision preferred;
  • Experience with equipment in industrial environments such as: refining, mining, metals and/or utilities;
  • Experience directing projects that include: mechanical reliability, vibration analysis, lube oil analysis and mechanical integrity;

Senior Metallurgist - Hydrometallurgy

This individual will provide technical leadership to meet the process engineering and technical needs. Develop and direct process improvements. Lead technical support. Supervise engineers and technicians.

  • Manage all technical and quality issues in connection with the facility operations;
  • Coach and mentor others in the Process Engineering Department;
  • Propose and manage environmental technology projects related to operations;
  • Coordinate with corporate EH&S department to ensure environmental compliance;
  • Direct the planning, scheduling, technical project management and execution of activities for major technical projects at the facilities including providing cost-effective process recommendations and completion of projects on budget and on time for start-up and operations;
  • Evaluate performance of plant processes:  analyze operating data, develop mass and energy balances, recommend new or improved practices, processes, equipment, etc., to improve metallurgical and economic performance;
  • Coordinate and direct activities of outside engineering or consulting companies and other contractors in the execution of process engineering/ technical projects or studies;
  • Supervise, develop and evaluate performance of technicians and engineers.

Qualifications:

  • BS degree in Metallurgy/Hydrometallurgy, Materials Science or Chemical Engineering;
  • Computer competency in working with and developing system solutions;
  • Six Sigma and Lean Enterprise experience.

Maintenance Manager to be responsible for maintenance management and reliability. This person will lead the effort to enhance the Preventive and Predictive Maintenance Program.

This individual will lead the Maintenance Department and the Reliability Program which is a key to the success of this operation. Looking for an individual who has a solid track record in PM/PdM and has mentored and developed personnel in a Maintenance Department. 

Responsibilities include:

  • Responsibility for maintenance, engineering and reliability;
  • Responsibility for mechanical reliability, NDT, vibration analysis, lube oil analysis and mechanical integrity;
  • Serve as Champion for Site Reliability Program;
  • Troubleshoot Plant maintenance problems and establish Preventive and Predictive Maintenance procedures;
  • Direct and coordinate plant CMMS;
  • Work closely with plant and corporate management personnel;
  • Train personnel and develop Reliability Centered Maintenance Program.

Qualifications:

  • BS degree required in Engineering; 
  • Able to train personnel and develop Reliability Centered Maintenance Program;
  • Track record of improving plant OEE;
  • Experience with CMMS

  • Utilize creative problem solving and the design of experiment approach to deliver technical solutions and communicates them to a wide range of business functions so that they can take action on the recommendations;
  • Direct development of best practices with other Engineers and Scientists to drive continuous improvement. 
Requirements include:
  • BS Chemical Engineering and MBA;
  • 5+ years chemical plant, pilot plant and R&D process engineering;
  • Knowledge of statistical methods - SPC;
  • Excel, Microsoft Office applications, with PLC knowledge a plus.

Operational Excellence / Continuous Improvement Manager

Works as part of a team to integrate the design, development, deployment, measurement, and improvement of systems throughout the manufacturing process with an emphasis on the interaction between all components. From supply and production through delivery to data management, organizational structure and finance, develops and maintains efficient manufacturing and administrative processes to support maximum production of high-quality product at the lowest cost and in the shortest time.  Responsible for driving process improvements throughout the plant to support key strategic initiatives, increase productivity and reliability, and reduce waste.  

Major Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Identify and execute Continuous Improvement projects aligned to key business priorities;
  • Identify and deploy Lean Manufacturing best practices;
  • Mentor and coach plant personnel on Operational Excellence philosophy and tools;
  • Ensure plant personnel remain informed and trained on Operational Excellence activities, (5S, Total Productive Maintenance [TPM], Daily Management Control, Standardized Work and Problem Solving);
  • Champion for improvement activities (benchmarking, bottleneck analysis, loss analysis, trend analysis and reporting, etc.);
  • Assist management team with the advancement of High Performance Work Systems;
  • Perform business analysis to identify, generate, develop, and execute opportunities;
  • Coordinate, communicate and document plant Hoshin and Kaizen activities as well as monitor and track idea program;
  • Review and track all monthly standard work audits;
  • Create and revise visual standard work as needed and ensure all visual standard work procedures and manuals are current;
  • Develop, maintain and communicate key production, financial, quality, OE and cost metrics;
  • Works with safety department personnel to ensure safety philosophy is incorporated into all continuous improvement activities (training, self-assessments, safety audits, incident reporting, non-routine task risk review, etc.);
  • Work with management team to effectively monitor, assess and make adjustments to inventory levels, (finished goods, MRO, etc.) as required;
  • Provide input and support to Quality Assurance Department to maintain, audit and update QA systems to ensure continued certification (ISO, etc.) and customer satisfaction (Customer Concern database).
