Safety Coordinator

Responsible for coordinating and leading the safety programs at company facilities and to provide professional knowledge and expertise in the administration and support of health and safety programs. Additional responsibilities include:

  • Responsible for the overall coordination and implementation of health and safety programs to assure compliance with regulatory agency guidelines and corporate policies;
  • Responsibilities include management of the Safety Management Program (SMP), and associated training programs to assure compliance safety and health regulations and guidelines; and
  • Implementation of Pro-Active Safety Programs such as Behavior Based Safety.

 Accountabilities include: 

  • Develop, implement, and maintain comprehensive safety, health, and training program in support of Company SMP Policies;
  • Ensure compliance with Division and Corporate SMP policies, programs, standards, procedures, and other (OSHA) regulatory requirements;
  • Conduct on-site reviews and support audits of operations and facilities;
  • Work with site resources to implement SMP standards and has the ability to plan ahead for pending regulations;
  • Assist with setting SMP Targets & Objectives and provides guidance for attainment;
  • Work closely with the Site Managers, department managers, employees at all levels, and contractors to maintain a safe and healthy work place;
  • Develop and implement accident investigation techniques, data analysis, and recurrence prevention programs and procedures. Ensure accidents, incidents, near misses and other non-conformances are properly rated and appropriately input into the CIRS database;
  • Lead and assist with incident investigations and ensure the appropriate levels of corrective actions are implemented;
  • Assure the SMP Management System is effective and efficient and updated as needed for continual improvement;
  • Coordinate employee and contractor training to understand their role in support of health and safety and regulatory requirements, including job hazard analysis (JHA) and process safety management (PSM);
  • Achieve and maintain the corporate and industry safety metrics, such as TRIR and EMR ratings consistent or better than industry benchmarks;
  • Assist Emergency Response Teams and respond to potential plant emergencies and planning;
  • Professionally represent the company with regulatory agencies regarding OSHA regulatory compliance and develop a good working relationship with regulators to formulate effective corrective actions;
  • Assist with the development of the annual safety budget and properly administer expenditures;
  • Manage worker compensation claim process and implements a Divisional Case Management program;
  • Assure compliance with health and safety aspects of Contractor Management Program; and
  • Participate in the annual Sites management review process.

Operations Manager/General Manager

Direct the operations for Mines/Quarries and Mineral Processing Plants. Lead the effort to improve overall productivity and profitability. Solid track record mentoring and developing personnel. 

Responsible for overall safe and efficient plant and quarry operations. This position is also responsible for coaching and developing subordinate staff. Responsibilities include:

  • Responsible for management of all operations personnel;

  • Responsible for administration and enforcement of Homeland Security;
  • Control of operation costs in order to achieve budget;
  • Direct Managers in equipment maintenance and protection programs to maximize life expectancy of all hard assets;
  • Oversee customer satisfaction through producing and delivering on-time products in proper quantities, shipping and correct invoicing;
  • Implement long-term planning concepts, directives and goals as outlined by Senior Corporate Management;
  • Responsible for employee compliance with all operations and plant operating policies and procedures; and
  • Responsible for establishing and maintaining effective communication and coordination with Company personnel and management.

Quality Manager

Responsibilities include:

  • Define and lead the product quality initiatives in close collaboration with all plants;
  • Oversee continuous development and improvement of Quality System Program which includes the customer complaint management system, quality document management systems and associated elements. Objectives include meeting multiple market/customer sales needs and standardizing optimal quality processes between manufacturing, technical, administrative and sales groups;
  • Advise, educate and train managers, colleagues and employees on the business value of maintaining and improving quality system;
  • Manage response to supporting customer and market requirements for quality system elements and information, including supplier surveys and site audit visits. Coordinate necessary follow-up actions with the Sales / Customer Service and Sales Administration departments;
  • Perform and advise internal audit programs to ensure the effectiveness of the quality systems, suitability and improvement, including procedure updates;
  • Support, advise and coordinate with Purchasing and Regulatory Affairs the development and implementation a supplier audit program to ensure consistent quality of materials;
  • Coordinate all certification efforts in support of Corporate Certification project;
  • Act as the Quality representative to Corporate Quality Group efforts;
  • Manage all functions of the plant QA & QC labs including raw material, in process, and finished goods testing;
  • Lead the Analytical Materials Testing using various testing tools and methods;
  • Responsible for compliance with ISO procedures at the site;
  • Manage & support the ongoing HACCP & GMP quality efforts;
  • Provide leadership in the area of first pass quality in an effort to minimize waste and maximize plant efficiency.  This includes technician training, process auditing and recommendations to management on best practices; and
  • Work with other team members to ensure systems and processes are in place to maintain finished goods integrity within the warehouses and that inventory accuracy is maintained.
