Corporate Quality Manager

Develop, implement, communicate and maintain quality management systems to support overall quality and production objectives. Oversee all activities related to development/application/maintenance of QA/QC procedures and standards. The position will include:

  • Provide statistical analysis to support production processes and exploration;
  • Direct internal audit activities; representing company during audits;
  • Review customer contracts;
  • Review customer specs, industry changes to ensure company compliance;
  • Develop/maintain systems to rate vendors;
  • Ensure conformity of processed materials and final product to meet customer and company quality standards;
  • Identify quality issues/trends and implement defect reduction activities and corrective action data;
  • Work toward continuous improvement (Lean Enterprise) using in-process audits and certificate processes;
  • Implement newest and best proactive methods in QA areas to provide consistent high quality with minimum time and cost;
  • Determine the number and qualifications of personnel, as well as the equipment and material necessary, to satisfy workload demands;
  • Direct and coordinate a staff of laboratory technicians in the testing of a wide variety of materials to determine their chemical and physical properties;
  • Serve as liaison with project managers, department managers, technicians, and clients to resolve disputes and provide interpretive and evaluative analyses of tests and inspections performed;
  • Disseminate technical information on the performance of tested materials; suggests modifications in the formulation, processing, and production of sub-standard materials for conformity to specifications;
  • Serve as liaison with governmental agencies with respect to policies, procedures, and programs;
  • Responsible for providing advice on the suitability of products for engineering applications;
  • Interpret complex specifications and formulates procedures for testing materials submitted without specifications;
  • Assist in the preparation of the department budget;
  • Establish departmental operating policies and procedures and work standards;
  • Analyze, evaluates, and approves reports;
  • Bachelor’s Degree and minimum 5 yrs QA management experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience;
  • Knowledge of engineering theory, principles, and practices, relative to materials testing;
  • Knowledge of XRF sample analysis and operation;
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills; excellent organizational skills; and
  • Proficient in Microsoft office, including Word, Excel and PowerPoint.

Project Manager

Extensive hands-on experience in project management, purchasing, budgeting, contract and vendor management, and commissioning in the mining/minerals processing industries. Experience to include:

  • Track record of deadline and budgetary target attainment;
  • Management of engineering and construction with project value totals in excess of $25MM;
  • Supervision of Project Engineers;
  • Development and implementation of policies and procedures for project engineers and managers;
  • Successful track record of health and safety for projects managed;
  • Development and support of training initiatives to improve both quality and performance of respective workforces;
  • Take the lead to review engineering calculations and assumptions so that projects are completed as designed;
  • Hands-on experience with JIT, TQM, SPC and other quality and manufacturing standards a plus;
  • Knowledge of structural areas including structural steel work;
  • Knowledge of soils, foundations and steel design;
  • Mechanical design of equipment helpful;
  • Plant equipment layout;
  • Managed construction projects in the field; and
  • Dealt with building permits, environmental permits and construction problems in the field.

Reliability Manager 

Responsible for division reliability management. Lead the Preventive and Predictive Maintenance Program for multiple manufacturing sites. This individual will lead the Maintenance and Reliability Engineers and Technicians in the reliability programs and will champion the Reliability program at multiple sites. Looking for an individual who has a solid track record in PM/PdM and who has mentored and developed personnel in Maintenance and Reliability Departments. The position will include:

  • Responsibility for maintenance engineering and reliability;
  • Responsibility for electrical and mechanical reliability, NDT, vibration analysis, lube oil analysis and mechanical integrity; 
  • Serve as Champion for the Reliability Program;
  • Lead troubleshooting of plant maintenance problems and establish Preventive and Predictive Maintenance procedures;
  • Direct and coordinate CMMS; 
  • Work closely with plant management personnel; 
  • Train personnel and developing Reliability Centered Maintenance Program;
  • BS/BA degree required, preferably in engineering; 
  • Able to train personnel and develop Reliability Centered Maintenance Program; 
  • Track record of improving plant OEE; and
  • Experience with CMMS.

Responsible for all maintenance supervision, engineering and reliability including vibration analysis, lube oil analysis and mechanical integrity. 

Job responsibilities and requirements:

Process Engineer 

Demonstrated record of accomplishment in a manufacturing culture focused on safety, reliability, and process improvement.  Ideally this experience will include mineral and/or inorganic chemical continuous process manufacturing.  Experience should include a minimum of 5 years of experience in an engineering and/or leadership capacity.  Good technical skills coupled with excellent communications skills are essential. The ideal candidate will have the desire and potential to develop into a broader management role, in an engineering, maintenance, or production capacity.

Requirements include:

  • BS Chemical Engineering or related technical field;
  • Experience with kilns/calciners and background in cement, lime, kaolin, trona or similar industries;
  • Strong background using statistical methodologies (SPC) to improve plant operating efficiency and productivity;
  • Capability to independently support related areas of responsibility with minimal supervision;
  • Ability to effectively communicate with all functional groups and through several levels of the organization;
  • Can utilize project management and other engineering tools to optimize project execution;
  • Functional/technical knowledge and/or experience commensurate to the role/job;
  • Interest in and commitment to teamwork and team based systems;
  • Demonstrated leadership skills; and
  • Strong Computer skills.

  • Implement long-term planning concepts, directives and goals as outlined by Senior Corporate Management;
  • Responsible for employee compliance with all operations and plant operating policies and procedures; and
  • Responsible for establishing and maintaining effective communication and coordination with Company personnel and management.

Background should include:

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Mine Engineering preferred;
  • MBA preferred but not required;
  • 5+ years of management experience;
  • 10+ years of minerals industry experience; and
  • Proven track record of leadership, productivity improvement, profitability and personnel development while maintaining site Health, Safety and Environmental standards.
