  • Direct all mine production, operations and maintenance;
  • Monitor mining methods and equipment to improve performance; ensure maximum productivity and extraction rates by optimizing mining methods and procedures;
  • Serve as liaison with Federal, State and Local regulators, completing, or overseeing completion of all required reports, certifications and re-certifications;
  • Direct Operations to ensure that designs are implemented in the field;

Qualifications:

  • B.S in Mining Engineering;
  • Strong understanding of Mine Planning, Mine Scheduling, Mine Geology/Geotechnical and Mine Production with ability to evaluate ore grade/quality, cut-off grade, blending, slope stability, mine capacity, and production strategies;
  • Understanding of mining software such as Surpac, MineSite, Gemcom, Vulcan or equivalent;
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel and PowerPoint;
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing; strong interpersonal skills; excellent organizational skills.

The position is with a highly profitable, diversified company that is looking to add a key person to direct their Maintenance and Engineering Department. This person will lead the effort to enhance the Preventive and Predictive Maintenance Program.

This individual will lead the Maintenance Department and the Reliability Program which is a key to the success of this operation. Looking for an individual who has a solid track record in PM/PdM and has mentored and developed personnel in a Maintenance Department.

The position will include:

  • Responsibility for maintenance, engineering and reliability;
  • Responsibility for mechanical reliability, NDT, vibration analysis, lube oil analysis and mechanical integrity;
  • Serve as Champion for Site Reliability Program;
  • Troubleshoot Plant maintenance problems and establish Preventive and Predictive Maintenance procedures; 
  • Direct and coordinate plant CMMS;
  • Work closely with plant and corporate management personnel;

Qualifications:

  • Track record of improving plant OEE;
  • Experience with CMMS.

  • Implement long-term planning concepts, directives and goals as outlined by Senior Corporate Management;

This individual will provide technical leadership to meet the process engineering and technical needs. Develop and direct process improvements. Lead technical support. Supervise engineers and technicians.

  • Manage all technical and quality issues in connection with the facility operations;
  • Coach and mentor others in the Process Engineering Department;
  • Propose and manage environmental technology projects related to operations;
  • Coordinate with corporate EH&S department to ensure environmental compliance;
  • Direct the planning, scheduling, technical project management and execution of activities for major technical projects at the facilities including providing cost-effective process recommendations and completion of projects on budget and on time for start-up and operations;
  • Evaluate performance of plant processes:  analyze operating data, develop mass and energy balances, recommend new or improved practices, processes, equipment, etc., to improve metallurgical and economic performance;
  • Coordinate and direct activities of outside engineering or consulting companies and other contractors in the execution of process engineering/ technical projects or studies;
  • Supervise, develop and evaluate performance of technicians and engineers.

Qualifications:

  • BS degree in Metallurgy/Hydrometallurgy, Materials Science or Chemical Engineering;
  • Computer competency in working with and developing system solutions;
  • Six Sigma and Lean Enterprise experience.
